I have worked with multiple social media influencers and brands over the years, from brand new creators with no following to creators with hundreds of thousands of followers.

Each brand strived for growth and engagement, regardless of where they were in their journey. With my personalized strategies, I was able to help every creator surpass all their social media goals in their niche, while converting engagement into paid services and/or products.

About Father Obsidian

Father Obsidian is a small wellness Bay Area brand striving to provide information and keys to help nourish + heal our physical body, our psyche, and our spirit. They began with the intention to educate as many people about the benefit of plant medicines and other "alternative" solutions to relieve physical pains as well as emotional and psychological trauma.

The company was looking for a major boost on social media, a way to reach its demographic of 21-50 while educating the masses in a fun, trendy way. I joined the team as Social Media + Influencer Marketing Manager and Business Operations Manager for one year.

Father Obsidian - Wellness Brand

01 - Project details

Father Obsidian’s goal was to drive website traffic and sales and increase engagement with users age 21-50. During growth, the company also wanted to implement an influencer program. At the time, the company had little to no engagement on socials with only a few sales being generated online.

02 - Creative process

My goal was to introduce product education in fun, relatable ways as a way to reach the target audience and rapidly build engagement.

I also wanted to bring the owner on the brand’s social media as the face of the company. Here’s Why -

Through research and observation, I was able to analyze how well the founder was able to sell any Father Obsidian product with a face to face interaction. He appealed to a younger audience with his slanged speech while appealing to an older audience with his frankness.

The strategy was to mostly focus on very short form video content where users experience a one on one with the founder going about his daily life, while using the products, and alternatively explaining the MANY uses of each product.

03 - Results

After a full year with Father Obsidian, the results were in!

Here’s are some of those results -

  • Instagram following grew from 5 followers to 1.4k, with engagement growing from 0.2% to 6.03%

  • Twitter following grew from 3 followers to 200, with mention rate up 2,000%

  • created Pinterest and averaged over 1k views per post

  • created Facebook page and grew engagement rate to 5.21%

  • 62% of follower demographic on instagram are 21-50, up from 25%

  • Website traffic up 500% with sales on back order

  • Signed 4 influencers in wellness space to represent brand and values

BodyAde - Fitness Trainer

Intro + Strategy

Ade wanted to increase his social media following rapidly in preparation for launching his fitness training app and website. He also wanted to showcase his journey getting better at major sports such as horseback riding, snowboarding, and rock climbing. I joined him for over 2 months, creating a weekly and monthly strategy based on our results.

My strategy was to join major trends, showcase Ade’s journey and give his audience motivation and education, while maintaining relatability.

Results

After 2 months, Ade grew from 1.5k to 5k+ followers on instagram, with his engagement growing from 1.5% to 7%.

I traveled with Ade to all his sporting events and scheduled weekly filming sessions at his gym. I filmed, edited, copy wrote and drafted all his content during this time, while providing styling assistance and creative direction.

I built a strategy “Showdown to Launch” where we increased anticipation for app launch by initiating weekly challenges to keep clients engaged while hosting weekly live streams to answer fitness related questions and concerns.

This allowed clients to experience that one on one or group feel with Ade, a feature that would be offered on the app.

Kristen Solis - Actress/Model

Intro + Strategy

When I began working with Kristen, she already had a following as an actress, but wanted to increase both following and engagement on instagram to attract modeling and brand deals. She also wanted to convert her engagement into Twitch subscribers.

My strategy was to showcase her beauty and amazing personal style through outfit photos, elegant photoshoots and recreating iconic shoots while tagging brands, and engaging with models and influencers on social media in her area.

Results

We planned themed shoots periodically, with Kristen maintained my personalized growth plan between those times. I provided creative direction, as well as filmed and edited all photos, while providing suggested copy.

With my guidance, she was able to grow on instagram from 3k to over 6.3k, increasing her already amazing 5.4% engagement rate to an astounding 8%. On Twitch, she grew from 0 to 150 subscribers in just 2 weeks when I optimized her profile and links and provided a call to action on both her posts and stories.

After many photoshoots and posts later, Kristen landed her first brand deal with Pretty Little Thing! She was invited to PLT’s Sean John launch and received all PR packages for the launch!

Harmony Mafia - Clothing brand

Intro + Strategy

I was introduced to Harmony Mafia during my time working with Father Obsidian. The brand was just starting out and the reached out to be about social media strategies. They wanted to focus on community and building a positive, sustainable following both on and offline. They then wanted to convert their social media engagement into direct website sales.

My strategy was to introduce Harmony Mafia to popular local events and with each face to face interaction, create a call to action to join the brand’s community on Instagram. On the back end, we would focus on creating dynamic content to showcase their clothing.

Their branding was fantastic! They just needed to do something in a big way to provide a much needed social boost.

Results

I decided on ONE shoot, in a big way! A campaign dedicated to showcasing the essence of Harmony Mafia’s streetwear brand. They even brought me on as a photographer and model for the shoot.

The results of the shoot were astounding! By the end of the full week’s organic and paid campaign, Harmony grew from 900 to 4.5k Instagram followers and engagement increased by 5.2%. This resulted in thousands of dollars in sales and the Empathy Collection selling out.

PipeDreams Apparel - Clothing brand

Intro + Strategy

I worked with PipeDreams Apparel for one project. They wanted to update their website product photos and launch an Instagram campaign for their new ACTIVE collection.

Based on the brand’s image of trendy pieces, my strategy was a fun, boutique like shoot, with clean white backgrounds. We alternatively added a few elements of edgy streetwear images.

Results

I shot and edited all photos, while obtaining behind the scene’s images for the brand to share with their dedicated audience. They reported higher sales than usual for their new collection (% unknown) and felt their brand became more elevated. They also reported an increase in engagement for the duration of the campaign!
